| At Wallace Interiors, we have a full service, on-site workroom allowing us to provide an entire range of custom services. In addition to the descriptions below, we offer wall-to-wall carpet and area rugs. Our serging equipment allows us to cut area rugs to any shape. Clients can choose from a variety of styles and colors of bindings to create a completely unique area rug. Wallace Interiors offers interior shutters, blinds and shades, and we are a Hunter Douglas priority dealer. Samples of color and style options are available in the showroom, and we are happy to bring samples out to our client’s home for color matching purposes. |

Custom Seamstress Work
In our workroom, we have full-time, experienced seamstresses that do everything from inside window treatments to outdoor boat cushions – and once, on a client’s request, we even made a “Princess Bed”. All work is custom done, and the pieces produced are of top quality. Wallace Interiors starts most projects by going out to the site and taking measurements or constructing a template of the work to be done. A work order is then created, and an estimate given to the client. Fabric can be ordered from our selection of over 40,000 fabric samples, or the customer’s own material can be used. Cushions can be constructed from poly-wrapped foam, or manufactured with channel down. Patterned fabrics are brought together so that the pattern flows across seams uninterrupted. Finish-work, such as drapery pleats and comforter tufting, are hand done. When the job is complete the finished product is delivered and installed in the owner’s home.

Custom Upholstery
Wallace Interiors provides quality upholstery. Over our century of doing business, we have upholstered all sorts of items, from historic antiques to brand new pieces. We have even upholstered the carriage seats for the surreys that traverse the carriage trails of Acadia National Park. Wallace Interiors measures furniture ahead of time, creates an estimate, and then picks up the furniture to be upholstered. Fabric can come from our fabric room, or be provided by the client. In our workroom, furniture is stripped of the old fabric and any padding, layers of material, or old staples are also removed. The springs and frame are inspected and repaired as needed. Then the padding is replaced and the new fabric put on. Each step is performed with great attention to detail. All edges of the new fabric are serged to prevent fraying, furniture skirts are hand-sewn, tufted buttons and cording can be covered with the new fabric or contrasting fabric, and fringe and trims can be added to finish off the custom look. Upon completion, the piece is delivered back to the home at the owner’s convenience.

Working with Designers
Wallace Interiors works with many designers and decorators both locally as well as outside the area. Having our workroom right on-site allows for direct supervision, ensuring top quality workmanship. Wallace Interiors’ assistance in fabric selection, work order creation, and product manufacturing allows a designer or decorator more time to devote to the clients’ needs or to running his or her own business. In addition to the custom work we do on-site, we are also a Hunter Douglas priority dealer. For designers looking for the service, Wallace Interiors will manage each project from start to finish, taking the initial measurements right through to the final delivery or installation. We also have the ability to operate as a supplemental workroom to design companies that are over-extended during their busy season.
